Help is at hand for those confused by which e-learning solution they should
buy with the formation of the E-learning Vendors’ Association.
The association comes in response to widespread industry confusion from
potential users. "With many different types of e-learning suppliers, a
vast number of sources of information and a wide range of possible exhibitions
to attend, many potential buyers of e-learning were inundated and expressing
confusion about where to turn to for high quality, reliable information. We
want to make it clear for them," said Neil Lasher, managing director
Trainersoft, who has taken up the role of ELVA chairman.
The founding members of ELVA include the British Association of Open
Learners, Centra, 7CityLearning, Click2Learn, Docent, Fuel, Futuremedia,
Ignite, KnowledgePool, Macromedia. Pathlore, Saba Software and Trainersoft.

ELVA will be identifying and endorsing selected events and publications and
also working with publishers and conference and exhibition organisers.
"Clear and open communication between e-learning vendors all working
towards the same goal will assist in producing events and information of the
highest possible quality," said Dominic Keogh, marketing director of Fuel
and a founder member. "The formation of ELVA is a big step forward in the
e-learning marketplace."
