The Department of Health has already had more than 200 proposals to become
nurse consultants and will be establishing some posts next year, health
minister Alan Milburn has announced. "My intention when I allocate next
year’s cash for cutting waiting lists and modernising services will be to use
some of it to establish nurse consultant posts to expand services," he
said.
Milburn was speaking at a conference on nursing education, where he set out
his vision for the transformation of the NHS.
