British Gas has reshuffled its senior HR team, with top man Alf Turner replaced at the helm, Personnel Today can reveal.
His replacement as HR director across both the residential and business arms of British Gas is Jill Shedden, who joined the company in 1988 as a graduate trainee.
In her previous role as HR director for British Gas Business, she took the organisation to third place in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For list.
Shedden will report to new managing director Phil Bentley, and will be working with the British Gas executive team to “put people at the heart of its strategy”, the company said.
Turner, who had been the energy giant’s HR director for six years, has taken up a position as director of transformation. His key tasks will be “defining and implementing a strategic business operating model to improve accountability and performance across the residential energy business”, according to British Gas.
