A
Torquay-based factory employee who learned last week she was losing her job had
the perfect comeback over the weekend – landing £15m on the National Lottery.
Thea
Bristow, who had worked at Polkadot Designs for 12 years, was told she was
being laid off because the factory was closing at the end of the year, reports
the Daily Mirror.
But
after buying a ticket at the last minute on Saturday, Bristow checked her
numbers and realised she was the jackpot winner.

The
owner of the factory, who did not want to be named, told the Mirror: “It’s a
busy time. I think it’s unlikely she’ll come back. I don’t think I can match
her wages, but I am thrilled to bits for her.”
