This month’s letter
I read with interest the advice on how to deal with workplace bullying
(Letters, OH November), but in my experience none of it is likely to be helpful
to those of us unfortunate to work in an organisation without a clear policy on
harassment.
In my case, I was being verbally brow-beaten by my line manager and despite
repeated and well-documented approaches to management, my requests for action
were ignored.

As there was nobody responsible for dealing with bullying issues, a great
deal of buck-passing took place. Eventually, I gave up the struggle and left. I
realise that this is not the solution that everyone would choose, but reading
the warning signs and getting out with your self-esteem intact may be the best
option.
