London Borough of Southwark is developing an online customer care training programme with Marshall ACM for all planning staff to better understand good customer service in the multicultural borough. The training module is being developed for the Planning Department and represents a commitment to deliver service beyond customer expectations.
The learning programme will include a strong ethos of equality and diversity to better serve the local population. The borough has the eighth largest ethnic minority community in the country, with over 80 languages being spoken in its schools.
Gary Rice, Head of Development Control at London Borough of Southwark, said, “We chose e-learning with Marshall ACM because we wanted to audit and record that every member of staff actively engages with the programme. It is part of a blended programme, following on from classroom sessions. An online solution also allows us to keep the programme updated and make it part of induction for all new staff”.
