Wednesday is the best day to discuss money matters at work with your boss, according to research.
The survey of 1,500 managers, by by Office Angels recruitment consultancy, found three-quarters of them were more receptive to talking about promotions on a Wednesday. The research identified specific days of the week for certain behaviour patterns and found that most manager’s behaviour could be clearly tracked.
Monday morning blues were found to be a thing of the past, with more than 70% of bosses claiming they feel refreshed and motivated after the weekend.
Managers were also happy to sign off holiday requests on a Monday afternoon, with two-thirds of them believing employees should have a boost at the beginning of the week.

“Emotionally a boss’s week will work in cyclical patterns as much of their work is a rotation of meetings. The good news is that it’s easy to study these thinking and emotional patterns and use them to your own advantage,” explained psychologist and behavioural expert Judi James.
Friday was revealed to be the best day for asking a favour. More than half of bosses admitted that they were more calm and relaxed at the end of the week.
