Pay deals declined
last month, according to new research.
Income
Data Services reports that average pay deals have been around 3.5 per cent this
year. However analysis of over 250 settlements last month showed that deals
worth less than 3 per cent have increased in number.
“The net
effect is that the level of pay awards, particularly in the private sector, has
turned down slightly,” claimed an IDS spokesperson.
The
figures mirror the falling rate of inflation, which was down to 2.3 per cent
last month.
However, the
research also reveals that some employers, particularly public sector
organisations, have had to increased their pay rises significantly to retain or
recruit staff.
