The number of hits on recruitment websites is going up but
it has not led to more online applicants, according to research.
Over 60 per cent of UK employees look for jobs on recruitment
websites as compared to 14 per cent looking in daily newspapers.
But only 10 per cent apply for the jobs online claims the
research by Forrester Research.
“Recruitment sites need to encourage interactivity from
users, they must better understand and react to their candidates’ needs.
“UK online recruitment sites must evolve from the ‘one stop
shops’ of today and become either industry specialists or appeal to a very
particular type of candidate,” said Forrester Research’s director of European
data products William Reeve.
Two hundred employers and 7,000 Internet users were
questioned.
