HR
outsourcing is an increasing trend, according to recent research.
The
report, HR Outsourcing: Managing the Lifecycle, finds that 28 per cent of
organisations have increased their use of HR outsourcing in the past five years.
Reed
Managed Services surveyed HR managers in 120 organisations nationwide for the
study.
Only
7 per cent state their use of outsourcing had decreased during the past five
years, while just over half report that it has not changed.
However,
more than half of the respondents feel that loss of control is the greatest
disadvantage of outsourcing. Higher costs and lower quality are also associated
with outsourcing within the sample, and 27 per cent believe it is an
ineffective tool overall.
Despite
this, 59 per cent feel that outsourcing gives HR professionals far more freedom
to concentrate on strategic tasks. www.reed.co.uk/client
