The National Childbirth Trust is leading a campaign to help mothers continue
breastfeeding on return to work.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, employers are not allowed to impose
conditions on staff which stop mothers breastfeeding until the baby is 12
months old. During this time mothers might be able to negotiate shorter shifts
or be given breaks to express milk in order to help them breastfeed.
A booklet is available from the NCT priced £3.00.
