New chief executive appointed to lead Roffey Park Institute

Michael Jenkins has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Roffey Park to succeed John Gilkes, who is stepping down after six years with the Institute.
Michael Jenkins will take up his role in March 2009.

He is currently Vice President Asia-Pacific for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) where he has built a significant business, offering leadership development across China, India, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
His career includes roles with INSEAD in France and Singapore, Bath University and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.

Michael brings with him a wealth of experience both in terms of his business orientation and in working with a not-for-profit organisation.

This together with Michael’s global perspective and understanding of senior level personal development, particularly leadership and coaching, means he understands the challenges and opportunities facing businesses today.
Commenting on the new appointment, Val Hammond, Chair of Roffey Park says:

“Michael brings a fresh and different perspective. To succeed in a global economy UK businesses need to think internationally – Michael’s international experience will be invaluable in assisting Roffey Park to build links and create partnerships to support businesses, as will his focus on leadership and personal development.”
Michael Jenkins, newly appointed Chief Executive, says:

“I am delighted to be joining Roffey Park and look forward to contributing to the valuable work of the Institute. It will be exciting to explore ways in which we can bring the knowledge and expertise of Roffey Park to more people around the world and through this, create positive and lasting impact for individuals and organisations at home and abroad.”
