Readiness Manager from InfoBasis allows IT training companies to carry out corporate training needs analysis and other skills management services. Skills gap analysis and training plans can be prioritised by cost, time, job role needs and project importance.

The Southern Learning Hub is the new commercial arm of the Fareham-based Hampshire and Solent Learning Hub. It has been set up to bring learning to a wider audience across Hampshire, Berkshire and the Isle of Wight. It will offer the Institute of Leadership Management courses, national tests, and basic skills, as well as Microsoft and City & Guilds qualifications.

The eLearning Network has joined with publishers BizMedia to launch the eLearning Awards, to be held in September. There will be eight categories, including best e-learning production on a low budget and most conspicuous return on investment from an e-learning project. Nominations will only be accepted from those using the e-learning, and not supplier companies.

Merseyrail Electrics has signed up for Futuremedia’s Home Computing Initiative (HCI), Learning for All. It will be offered to all 1,100 staff, giving them the opportunity to get an internet-ready, fully-installed PC at well below high street prices.
