NHS recruitment is "being brought into the 21st
century" according to Health Minister Lord Hunt, announcing plans to
develop "a web site which will act as a one-stop billboard for all NHS job
vacancies".
The scheme will be launched next spring and will include
comprehensive and continuous coverage of all NHS staff vacancies.
The site, he adds, "will also help to develop the
careers of those already working in the health service by acting as a single
source of vacancy information.
"Staff working in even the smallest rural trust or GP
surgery will be able to see, at a glance, all available posts throughout the
NHS, encouraging them to apply for posts or promotions which they previously
might not have known existed."

He points out that, "Hopefully, in the long term, it
will save money which would otherwise have been spent on advertising in
newspapers and magazines."
