A
poll of more than 200,000 NHS staff has revealed worrying levels of harassment,
bullying, abuse and physical violence from patients and colleagues.
The
shocking findings highlight the problems facing frontline staff, with 15 per
cent claiming to have suffered physical violence at work.
The
research, believed to be the largest employee survey in the world, found a
third of respondents had experienced harassment, bullying or abuse in the last
12 months.
Work-related
stress is another major issue facing the NHS, with 39 per cent of staff
claiming to be sufferers.

However,
the Commission for Health Improvement survey did have a positive angle, with
three-quarters claiming to be generally satisfied with their jobs.
