International law firm Ashurst has elected two new employment partners. The
promotion of James Cox in London and Andreas Vogel in Frankfurt brings the
number of partners appointed to Ashurst’s employment practice to three this
year, with a total of seven across Europe.
Zynap, the software provider, has announced that Chris Macklin has joined
the company as chief operating officer. Macklin brings more than 25 years worth
of international HR management experience in some of the world’s major global
companies.

Accountants and business advisers Mazars has appointed Linda Moore as HR
manager for its northern region offices in Leeds, Huddersfield and Manchester.
She has more than 20 years’ experience and was most recently an HR consultant
to Bradford & Bingley.
Trade and industry secretary Patricia Hewitt has announced the appointment
of four new members to the Acas Council. They are Dave Prentis, general
secretary of Unison, Sarah Veale, head of equality and employment rights at the
TUC, Sarah Anderson, member of the Small Business Council, and John McMullen,
national head of employment law at Pinsents.
