This week’s on the move
– Lloyds TSB has appointed Frans Hijkoop as group director of human
resources. He brings considerable experience to the role having held a number
of senior HR positions across the globe. His previous companies include ICI,
Pepsi-Cola International and Unilever. Frans succeeds Norman Mitchinson, who is
retiring.
– Philippa Hird has been appointed as ITV’s HR director. She joined Granada
Television in 1988 and held a variety of roles before becoming head of
personnel for LWT in 1996. The following year, she became director of personnel
for Granada Media and, in 2001, she was appointed personnel director for
Granada plc.
– Pat Stringfellow has been appointed HR director for hygiene company
Initial. Stringfellow has made the move from Rentokil Initial UK Cleaning,
where she enjoyed a reputation as an innovator in training and development. In
her new role, she will be responsible for the employment needs of around 4,000
employees.

– Hugh Robertson has been appointed as the TUC’s new senior health and
safety policy officer. He replaces Owen Tudor, who was promoted to head of the
TUC’s European and international department last year. Robertson previously
worked for public sector union Unison as head of bargaining and health and
safety.
– Global publisher LexisNexis has appointed Robert Rigby-Hall as senior
vice-president and head of worldwide HR. He joins from Reed Exhibitions, a
sister company, where he was global HR director.
