The Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) has appointed Caroline Mikardo
as its first director of resources. She joins from the London Borough of
Lewisham, where she was head of strategic resources. In her new role, Mikardo
will be responsible for all aspects of finance, business planning, human
resources, marketing and IT. She will also take responsibility for some of
these functions at the other central public bodies, including the Employers’
Organisation and LACORS.
Pizza Hut UK has appointed Liz Glendinning to the position of regional HR
manager for London. Glendinning, who has 13 years’ experience in the HR
industry, will be responsible for implementing change programmes and maximising
individual performance in the London region. In her role at Pizza Hut, she will
be involved in recruitment, manpower planning, performance management, and
training and development. She will report to the head of field HR, working alongside
the regional director and area managers. Glendinning joins from House of
Fraser, where in her three years as regional HR adviser, she reduced labour
turnover in stores by up to 13 per cent.
