Jewish Care, the UK’s largest health and social care charity for the Jewish
community, has appointed Ruth Lewis as management services director. The
newly-created position encompasses HR, training, volunteers, property,
procurement, health and safety, IT and security.
Lewis’ career includes more than 20 years working for British Airways,
largely in HR and training. She was responsible for the expansion of the
airline’s global community involvement programme, as well as encouraging
employee volunteering across BA’s network. In 2000, she became recruitment
director for VSO. During her time in that role, she streamlined processes and
procedures and initiated a major culture change to improve relationships with
the charity’s volunteers.
Peter Blausten has joined international airport group BAA, as group HR
director. Blausten will take responsibility for HR in the UK and
internationally, reporting directly to chief executive designate Mike Clasper.
He has held a wide range of senior HR positions at Ford, British Airways and
Charles Schwab & Co. BAA employs more than 11,000 staff and operates seven
UK airports.
Towry Law, the independent financial adviser, has appointed Kevin Condon as
its new director of employee benefits in a bid to strengthen its expertise in
the corporate pensions and benefits market place. Condon joins from HBOS where
he was business development director.
