UCI logistics has appointed Jane Hawkins as its HR director. She returns to
the company after a four-year spell at PriceWaterhouse- Coopers, where she was
head of regional employment consulting. She also has HR experience at haulage
firm Christian Salvesen and consultants KPMG. She will be responsible for
employee relations, reward and retention, learning and development, and
recruitment.

Hammonds has made three new appointments to its international labour law
team. Steve Hurley is to be a partner in Manchester and will advise on all
aspects of employment law, with a particular emphasis on collective and
European law. Harmajinder Hayre will specialise on contentious law, including
advocacy, and will be based at the Leeds office. Kathy Halliday will also
become a partner and is experienced in advising on TUPE regulations.
The Engineering Employers Federation has appointed Mike Baunton, one of the
UK’s most senior automotive executives, as its president. Baunton has extensive
knowledge of manufacturing in the UK and internationally and is currently
vice-president of Caterpillar. He is responsible for its compact power systems
division, where he is president of Perkins Engines Company and FG Wilson.
