There are proposals for a new insolvency directive.
The European Economic and Social Committee recently welcomed the European Council’s proposal for a new directive to protect employees in the event of the insolvency of their employer.The original proposal was merely to codify the existing legislation in this area, but the Committee has now called upon the Commission to go further than this.
