Some of the UK’s top athletes could be coming to a workplace near you as
part of a new partnership to get Olympic hopefuls into the jobs market.
The Olympic and Paralympic Employment Network (OPEN) is a support programme for
top athletes and is designed to help them continue their careers while
achieving sporting ambitions.
Only the very top athletes can attract the funding required to train
full-time, so the majority of the UK’s Olympic stars have to fit their sporting
activities around their job.

Recruitment firm Blue Arrow will provide a link to the corporate sector and
will look to place as many as 250 athletes through the OPEN scheme.
The programme aims to find the athletes flexible jobs with companies keen to
be associated with Olympic values and success.
