How the Government should regulate smoking in the workplace will come under
the spotlight at a conference this month.
The Don’t Choke on Smoke conference on 9 April is being organised by the
TUC, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and Action on Smoking and
Health (ASH).
They will call on the Government to accept the long-delayed Health and
Safety Commission’s Approved Code of Practice on passive smoking. It will also
publish an opinion poll on the subject, and look at evidence of the levels of
illness caused by environmental tobacco smoke.
