Dr James McCalman has been appointed director of MBA programmes at
Ashridge, one of Europe’s leading business schools. He has previously run
executive and part-time MBA programmes at Glasgow and Strathclyde and is
currently a specialist in organisational behaviour at Brunel University and a
visiting professor at the University of North Carolina. He is the co-author of
Change Management: A Guide to Effective Implementation and other recent
publications on issues ranging from high technology teams, through brands in
management consultancies, to organisational politics. The Ashridge Executive
MBA targets a more senior audience than the majority of MBA programmes. It
promises a high-quality experience and applicable personal development.
Ashridge is currently seeking Degree Awarding Powers which will support both
the MBA and its MSc in Organisational Consulting.
Susan Puskas has been made vice-president of quality assurance,
regulatory affairs and human resources for Minnesota-based Medtox Scientific, a
provider of high-quality specialised laboratory and on-site/point-of-collection
(POC) devices. Puskas joined Medtox in 1991 and was appointed director of
quality & regulatory compliance for Medtox Laboratories in 1997. Her
responsibilities have now been expanded to include QA/QC for Medtox diagnostics
and human resources. With more than 25 years of clinical laboratory experience,
including 21 years with managerial and supervisory responsibilities, Puskas
oversees Medtox’s quality assurance department and the regulatory affairs of
the laboratory. Puskas received her Bachelor of Science degree in
biology/chemistry from Youngstown State University in 1972, and is ASCP
certified as a Medical Technologist and a specialist in Clinical Chemistry.
Murem Sharpehas been appointed senior vice-president of sales at
Gevity HR, the leading human resource solutions provider. Sharpe has more than
20 years of experience in sales and marketing. Prior to joining Gevity HR,
Sharpe founded and served as chief executive officer of B2BQuarterback LLC, an
executive advisory services firm for high-growth technology companies.
Previously, Sharpe served as chief marketing and business development officer
of MSX International, which provided technology, business process and
professional staffing services at more than 60 locations in 23 countries. She
also served as senior vice-president and general manager of Kelly Management
Services, and was responsible for building the outsourcing services business
unit of Kelly Services. For 11 years, Sharpe worked for Pitney Bowes, where she
last served as the vice-president of market and product management for the
company’s core mailing systems business unit.
Mark W Krivoruchka has joined US-based Maytag Corporation, which
produces home and commercial appliances, as senior vice-president of HR. His
responsibilities include all aspects of HR including employee relations, labour
relations, benefits, compensation and organisational development. He was
previously president of MK Strategic Resources, a consulting firm specialising
in strategic business initiatives.

Heidi K Hagle has been appointed vice-president of HR at US-based
TechTeam Global, a global provider of information technology and business
process outsourcing support services. Hagle is being promoted to vice-president
from the position of director of HR, which she has held since May 1999. In this
capacity, she has been responsible for the HR function throughout TechTeam.
Hagle joined the company in 1996, as a senior HR generalist. She has a Bachelor
of Arts from the University of Michigan.
John Daniel has been named executive vice-president of HR at US-based
bank Union Planters Corporation. Â He
will be responsible for the HR division of the 12,000-employee organisation. He
previously worked at PNC Financial Corporation.
