John Keeble has joined insurance group Aon as director of knowledge
management. He was previously head of knowledge management at Enterprise Oil
where he was also responsible for directing all e-business strategy.
His role is to enhance client service by ensuring the effective application
of the knowledge and expertise available across the group.
The starting point for Keeble is assessing the talent the company has and
how best to utilise it. "My remit will be to help deliver synergies across
Aon’s businesses by ensuring effective application of the knowledge available
across the group," he says. "One of the biggest challenges for any
company is how to make the most of what they know and how to apply the
expertise of the employees to deliver excellent service."
Keeble enjoys the way knowledge management involves the combination of the
big picture and personal impact: "A major challenge is understanding where
knowledge management can make the biggest difference and what’s needed to make
the breakthrough," he says. "At the same time, when you’re working
with a team and they realise how much they know collectively, and how powerful
they can be when they combine their knowledge, that’s amazing."
Keeble is married with three children. He enjoys pottery and football
coaching at a local school.
