Last year's awards ceremony gets underway. This year's photos to follow.

The shortlist for the Personnel Today Awards 2019 has now been completed, with the judges finalising their scores for the HR Supplier Partnership category. Employers making the grade this year range from household names including AXA, BT and IBM to organisations in central government, the NHS and local authorities.

The standard of entries for this year’s awards was particularly high, and the judges deliberated long and hard over which would make it onto the shortlist.

Personnel Today editor Rob Moss said: “It’s an exciting cohort of organisations in 2019. The competition in each category has been intense. Congratulations to everybody who made this year’s shortlist and thank you to everybody who entered.

“A special thanks goes out to our judges who gave their time to look closely at our entries.”

The shortlisted organisations will be invited to attend the Shortlist Drinks Party in September, as well as the glittering awards ceremony, which is now in its 21st year, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 19 November. Past hosts have included Alex Jones, Claudia Winkleman and Jack Dee.

This year we welcome our gold sponsor PeopleScout, the world’s largest recruitment process outsourcing provider, along with category sponsors Civica, The Guardian Jobs, Lloyds Banking Group, ResourceBank and XpertHR.

Last year, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust won the coveted overall award for its initiatives to turn around morale and improve engagement across its hospitals.
