Seven hundred jobs are set to be
created at Peugeot’s Coventry plant after existing staff voted in favour of a
fourth daily shift.
The extra shift is expected to
create a further 700 jobs and boast the plant’s chances of surviving the motor
industry’s global overcapacity crisis.

Sir Ken Jackson, general secretary
of Amicus-AEEU, the union which held the ballot, said: "The vote sends signals
to the company of the commitment of the workforce."
