Nine out of 10 people with mental health problems say there is a link
between physical and mental health, a survey by the national charity Mind
showed.
It examined the beliefs and lifestyles of over 500 people with mental
illnesses ranging from depression to schizophrenia.
Many felt the two were interwoven – if their mental health deteriorated they
were less likely to look after their physical health.
"Poor mental health suppresses your immune system," said one.

"Stress exacerbates any physical problem and can create others like
backache, headaches and indigestion," commented another.
