CPD has brought in Cheshire PR consultancy Souters to build brand awareness and help open up business opportunities among organisational development and HR professionals UK-wide.
Established In Liverpool by James and Rebekah Ayres eleven years ago, CPD has grown exclusively through recommendation and referral and works with some of Liverpool’s and the North West’s most influential public sector bodies including Warrington Borough Council and Wirral Partnership Homes. It also has a strong private sector portfolio including Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Chester Zoo.
“It is now time for a new approach to the way we market ourselves,” said MD Rebekah, “to showcase ground-breaking programmes of work we are doing and drive new opportunities.”
CPD has established an outstanding reputation in adapting best practice personal development and organisational improvement techniques for the public and private sectors. Projects range from pioneering customer care training, which has helped customer facing staff to recognise and improve response to customers with mental health issues, to comprehensive leadership development programmes that support major organisational culture change. They have also worked with housing associations to streamline their approach to equality and diversity compliance.
Director Sue Souter at Souters, based in Cheadle, Cheshire, said the brief was exciting. “CPD is uniquely set up as a core team with a wider consultancy group – all experts in field – and are trailblazing in many programmes. Our job will be to build their reputation among potential new purchasers of training and development programmes.”

“The first job has been to develop a strong brand position which reflects this highly competent, fun and friendly organisation, build a good web presence and a bank of case studies, to tell a story of expertise, and then take them to market with a consistent, effective communications campaign.”
Commenting on the appointment Rebekah Ayres said, “The business has gone from strength to strength since 1997 and we have ambitious growth plans for the next 12 months and beyond. Strategically, we recognised that we needed to increase our communications activity and were very impressed with Souters credentials and approach to our brief.”
