The HR director of the Prison Service, Gareth Hadley, resigned this week – and cleared his desk the same day.

Hadley had been in the job for seven years and had overseen a major transformation in the service’s HR function.

He quit on Monday and has been temporarily replaced by Robin Wilkinson, the Prison Service’s head of personnel management.
