Leading clinical research organisation Icon is deploying WBT Systems’ suite of e-learning programmes to manage its enterprise and compliance training requirements across more than 37 operations in 23 countries.
This industry is highly regulated, and Icon must be able to demonstrate to the regulator and its own clients that its global workforce is appropriately trained, qualified and current on all relevant regulations at any time.
Using the WBT software, it will now be able to provide centralised training management, delivery tracking and training auditability to meet the requirements of external regulators such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The organisation will now be able to deliver training records with electronic signatures on demand. The software also enables the company to manage certification and identify skills gaps.
Icon considered many options for its Enterprise Clinical Training programme, but a number of factors pointed it towards WBT’s system.
“Apart from meeting our technical requirements, WBT could also demonstrate a proven methodology for implementations of this scale,” said Anne Wesler, vice-president of corporate training and development at Icon.
