Pub chain’s expansion fuels jobs growth

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon is planning a huge expansion drive, which will create up to 3,000 jobs.

It will open another 110 pubs across the UK.

Chairman Tim Martin announced the expansion after the company reported annual profit increases of 38 per cent to £36.1m.

Wetherspoon pubs serve food all day, do not play loud music, have non-smoking areas and specialise in cask-conditioned beers. The first Wetherspoon pub opened in north London in 1979.
