The
British Red Cross Society has launched a first aid CD-ROM to combat the lack of
first aid skills in the workplace.
Joe
Mulligan, head of training and development at the British Red Cross, said:
"I am convinced that this product will give its users the confidence to
act if confronted with an emergency situation. The interactive nature of this
CD Rom and the feedback provided enables the user to take action with out fear
of error."
Hew
Jones, head of UK people and organisational development at the Royal & Sun
Alliance, said the CD- Rom has already saved a man’s life after he fell down an
escalator and stopped breathing.
He
said: "We are totally committed to supporting individuals projects and
schemes, adopting a safer communities theme. Many R&SA employees have
trialled the CD-Rom knowledge centres in the UK. The feedback continues to be
extremely positive and in one instance helped an employee to save a life."
