Senior
managers were given the chance to exchange the relative comfort of the office
for the realities of the medieval battlefield at a recent training clinic.
Delegates such as Chris Sharp, pictured right, with managing director of
training consultancy NTP Meridian Mike Rix, took a hands-on approach to
medieval archery tactics with the aim of shooting down the fixed positions
adopted by some businesses. Props, which included fourteenth century longbows
and crossbows were used to put delegates in the mindset of the strategic
thinkers of the day. The course took as its starting point a series of battles
in the fourteenth century between the English and French and examined why
certain strategies failed. Two further clinics will be held in the winter
months.
