Righttrack rewards two top delegates

by Personnel Today 21 Feb 2008
by Personnel Today 21 Feb 2008

At the beginning of 2007, Righttrack Consultancy launched a delegate awards initiative and searched for two delegates who deserved to have their efforts recognised for truly embracing and successfully transferring their learning.

The initiative consisted of two awards, Delegate of the Year and Learner of the Year.

The competition was tough as hundreds of nominations were received, which made deciding on the two overall winners incredibly difficult. However the Righttrack board was unanimous on their decision.

The Delegate of the Year was designed to reward one delegate who the trainer felt made the highest contribution to the success of the training programme, who really came with a positive learning attitude, embraced all activities and helped keep the moral of the group high.

The winning delegate was Ghassan Ayyad, who works for Zain in Kuwait.

The reasons behind his nomination and his overall win were:
·        Ghassan demonstrated an excellent level of contribution to the discussions throughout the 3 modules
·        His retention of information and the subjects learnt impressed the trainer
·        Ghassan always demonstrated an interest for the subjects and whilst all the delegates contributed, his input was consistent and assured even when the subject material required greater levels of concentration
·        He asked questions and sometimes challenged ideas but always in a positive manner

The Learner of the Year was for the delegate who implemented and remained committed to their learning throughout 2007.

This was judged on the nominations made from the delegate’s managers and the entries in the delegate’s online Righttrack Learning Log.

The winning delegate was Andrew Smith, who works for ISS, in the West Midlands.

The reasons behind his nomination and his overall win were:
·        Since attending the sales course he has now achieved and exceeded all of his sales targets
·        Since he came back from the course he has increased his closure rate and is always looking at proactive ways to close a sale
·        He has also used the key lessons from the course to focus on his value proposition, think about his territory management and also ensure that his pipeline is constantly increasing and being managed
·        The course has had a positive impact on Andrew, who in turn has had a positive impact on the rest of the team in terms of benchmarking and setting an example of what can be achieved
·        Andrew utilised his Righttrack learning log to record key learning events
·        Overall it was felt that Andrew had made a big improvement following the course by implementing the key learning from the course

Both of the winning delegates were thrilled with the news and were pleased with the recognition – not to mention the prizes!

Mike Cooney, Righttrack’s Director said, “It is great to see delegates walking away from a development programme having fully embraced the learning and transferring it into their working lives. We would just like to take this opportunity to say well done to all the nominees and congratulations to the winners, as it was a close call between the nominees. We hope that all of the nominees continue to put their learning to good use.”
