Supermarket
giant Sainsbury’s is introducing a new human logistics management programme to
improve labour deployment at its 16 UK distribution centres.
The
scheme should help ensure thousands of staff are in the right place at the
right time and reduce wasted manpower.
Sainsbury’s
supply chain network uses more than 10,000 staff to service 463 stores around
the UK.
The
system will allow greater and easier access to information such as roster
plans, holidays and the balance of annualised hours.
