Sito, the
national training organisation for the security industry, is launching an entry
level training programme for security officers. The three-day programme, funded
by the Further Education Funding Council, will focus on health and safety, fire
awareness and general responsibilities of the security officer. Candidates
completing the course will receive a Sito Basic Job Training Foundation award.

Division’s
new owners boast of e-xpansion
A
management buy-out of Hyder IT training division will result in an expansion of
its facilities, according to the new owners. The Cardiff-based business,
renamed E-academy, is moving to a new base in Cardiff Bay, which has a
conference centre for 150 people. E-academy is the largest Microsoft Certified
Technical Education Centre in Wales and offers 120 training courses to
corporate clients including the Welsh Assembly and the Welsh Development

Ericsson
Management Institute (EMI) has joined with Edvantage group to develop an
Internet-based e-learning community. The set-up will offer Ericsson employees
online courses from leading business schools including Harvard Business School.
Courses will range from finance management to project leadership. The programme
