Security company teams up with union to improve communications

Security
company Securicor and trade union GMB are to launch a project to improve
employee relations and strengthen communications between the two organisations,
after problems negotiating earlier this year.

The
organisations have won funding from the DTI Partnership Fund – the first in the
security industry to do so.

The
project, entitled ‘Working Together’, will include a series of facilitated
workshops for Securicor Cash Services’ managers and GMB union representatives.

It
is hoped the workshops will foster more open communications, allowing employees
to become more involved in and committed to business change.

Jenni
Myles, HR director at Securicor Cash Services said: “Having effectively
resolved the issues raised during our negotiations with the GMB, our aim is to
work closely with union representatives to support the needs of our employees
and customers."
