Senior
managers cause more harassment in the workplace than their more junior
counterparts.
A
survey of 372 managers, by Roffey Park, shows that more than half of the
managers polled had experienced harassment to one extent or another.
More
than 60 per cent of those polled report that most harassment is caused by
senior managers compared to nearly 30 per cent who believe line managers are
the biggest culprits.
One-fifth
of those surveyed identify harassment by colleagues as an issue, while 17 per
cent believe customers cause harassment at work.
More
than one-in-10 of those polled said sexual harassment occurs in their working
environment, with 9 per cent claiming that physical threats have taken place. www.roffeypark.com
