The Society of Personnel Officers in Government Services has changed its name and become a limited company.
The new organisation is to be called the Public Sector People Management Association (PPMA) and will be led by a full-time, salaried chief executive.
The move, subject to a membership vote, will be announced by new president Angela O’Connor at the organisation’s annual conference starting in Brighton tomorrow.
The chief executive is expected to be appointed in the next few months, allowing the president to take on a more ambassadorial role away from the day-to-day running of the association.
