Super-union Unite to ballot Coca-Cola distribution workers over below-inflation pay offer

Super-union Unite is fizzing with anger at a below-inflation pay offer to workers at the Coca-Cola Enterprises distribution plant in Wakefield, Yorkshire.

The union is balloting more than 500 staff on a strike over an offer worth 2.5%. A strike could threaten summer supplies of Coca-Cola as well as the company’s other brands, including Dr Pepper and Sprite.

Unite regional officer Kelvin Mawer said: “Coca-Cola Enterprises now faces the prospect of a strike, which we believe will have a significant impact on supplies during the hottest months of the year.”
