First impressions of this book were mixed. At first it felt as though Graham Alexander was trying to sell his talents as a coach and mentor rather than provide the answers I might be looking for. But as I got into it, I began to see it as a very good reflective tool.
This is not the kind of book you read from cover to cover – it is something you will keep by the bedside and constantly refer to. I have certainly found it thought-provoking. It challenges you to look at the environment in which you work and the things that are important to you and those around you – to create a culture in which people feel valued and are able to seize opportunities and where learning is a core value.
You may not find the kind of answers you expected, but this book will help you to pull back from the hectic pace of working life and look at your motivation and potential.
