This book could be entitled First Aid for Managers. It is ideal for sitting on the office bookshelf for instant assistance.
This easy-to-use tome can help any manager with HR responsibilities, but who is not a trained HR practitioner. I had to check out flexible working and discipline in more detail while I was reviewing this book and found it very helpful.
Managers undertaking professional development can dip in and out to learn or revise, and union reps should get a copy too.
It is an amazing feat to get content for each letter of the alphabet: X is for Xmas celebrations, Y is for young workers, and Z is for zeitgeist. However, because of the complexity of HR management, readers will probably need to go to bigger and better resources for more detail and confirmation of ever-changing case law.
