The Accord Group looks to a greener future through web-based HR and payroll

by Personnel Today 30 Sep 2009

The Accord Group, comprising several housing associations and over 1,000 employees, has signed a seven-year contract with NorthgateArinso to implement its fully integrated web based HR and payroll solution, based on the ResourceLink-Aurora platform.

Working with NorthgateArinso will enable the Group to focus on its business objectives for growth. It will streamline and consolidate its operational practices through the use of web-based HR and payroll technologies, underlining Accord’s aims to become a more efficient and greener organisation.

NorthgateArinso’s ResourceLink will support the Group in delivering an organisational development strategy, which is focused on performance improvement and aligned to the development of managers and employees, who will drive the business forward.

Allison Taylor, head of organisational development at The Accord Group commented: “We were looking for a provider that understands the challenges Housing Associations face. NorthgateArinso recognised these challenges and highlighted how its solution and a close working partnership could assist us to meet our objectives.”

“We have bold plans in organisational development, and we needed a solution which would allow us to get the basics of HR and payroll right, whilst empowering managers and employees with better information to make proactive decisions,” Taylor continued.

Access to management information and the ability to use that to develop new policies and procedures is key to the success of The Accord Group HR and payroll project. ResourceLink will deliver a comprehensive set of reports for the HR and payroll user, and for managers, the ability to access KPIs through a web-based solution on turnover, absence, training etc.

Lakhbir Jaspal, Deputy Chief Executive of the Accord Group commented: “With social housing high on the political agenda, the Accord Group has ambitious plans for the future and our partners need to be aware that we will change as an organisation to meet these challenges. The NorthgateArinso team proved they wanted to work with us to support our business and the organisational development strategy that will underpin our overall business strategy. Our new organisational development team is playing a key role in creating the environment in which Accord and its people will grow and thrive today, tomorrow and far beyond, and ResourceLink will play a key part in this strategy.”

“NorthgateArinso has seen some great results with housing associations, based on a partnership approach, which The Accord Group highlighted as a key requirement in its evaluation process. I am confident that our partnership will go from strength to strength,” said Dave Proctor, public sector director at NorthgateArinso. “The Accord Group has ambitious plans for the ResourceLink solution, providing an enhanced level of business intelligence to managers and employees to become more empowered in their roles. Furthermore through the use of web-based technologies, for example online payslips and timesheets, our solution ensures that we support The Accord Group’s goal to become the greenest housing association in the UK.”
