More than four in ten UK workers plan to check their work e-mails over the festive season, according to new research.
The survey of more than 800 employees, by Fujitsu Siemens Computers, also reveals that almost half (48%) of the nation’s male workers will log in compared to 33% of female workers.
Regionally, workers in Greater London are the biggest e-mail addicts, more than half the workers in the area will check work emails over Christmas – compared to 35% in the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber.
Garry Owen, head of product marketing at Fujitsu, said: “Unfortunately, today’s 24/7 society means it is not always possible to completely escape our working lives and it sometimes necessitates having to work out of office hours. Our research shows this even stretches to the festive period. .
