Training news: IT skills courses web site comes on line

• A training web site listing more than 20,000 IT training courses and events was launched this month. The move by worldoftraining.com follows the massive demand for IT courses which has occurred as the Internet and applications software have developed.

Worldoftraining.com claims demand for courses on subjects such as eCommerce, Java, HTML, Visual Basic and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Engineer) is now outstripping that for more traditional subjects.

The site covers training for the above as well as technical courses such as accelerated router installation configuration and management.

Teambuilding? Call the fire service

• A new training programme inspired by a fire service teambuilding exercise has began at Heathrow airport’s training ground and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Headquarters. The programme, called Ignite, is based on fire service principles and uses actual fire service scenarios to give effective and lasting change to a team.
