Trivantis’ multilingual eLearning tools now available

by Personnel Today 29 Apr 2008
by Personnel Today 29 Apr 2008

Trivantis, a leading global provider of tools and services that enable its customers to create and manage eLearning content and multimedia communications, today announced the availability of multilingual versions of CourseMill 5.0, its leading Learning Management System (LMS) and Lectora 2008.

The solutions are now available in the following languages:

CourseMill 5.0 in Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish
Lectora 2008 in French, German, Spanish and Swedish

Shipping Lectora 2008 in different languages means the ability to author eLearning courses can now be placed in the hands of subject matter experts across Europe.

As well as making the authoring software increasingly applicable in different countries, when used with the multilingual version of CourseMill 5.0 it means that regardless of which language a course was created in students using Coursemill 5.0 will now have a choice of language for their interface.

These capabilities will be attractive to national and multi-national companies alike, creating increased sales opportunities for Trivantis’ growing network of channel partners across Europe.

CourseMill 5.0 is a Learning Management System that helps companies distribute, deliver, manage and track eLearning initiatives that are fully compliant with the latest eLearning standards.

Among the many new features found in the latest release of CourseMill 5.0 are:

Curriculum customisation by bundling multiple courses to create learning tracks
Ecommerce capabilities with shopping cart and discounting functions
Credit hours designation for tracking students’ progress toward meeting requirements
Individual student report cards for students to track their course history and grades

Lectora 2008 continues the software’s legacy of strong compliance to eLearning standards and compatibility with virtually all LMS’s.

Among the 50 new features found in Lectora 2008 are:

Automatic conversion and compression of video, audio, and animation files to Flash
Video tutorials instructing new users on key features for an even lower learning curve
More than 250 templates are categorised for quick searches and instantly availability
Customisable completion certificates for successful completion of a test or course

“We have noted that our customers are creating ever more sophisticated eLearning content and demanding increasing levels of flexibility from their LMS systems. The integration of greater language capabilities was requested by our users as they put in place increasingly complex eLearning architectures” said Julian Dable, Regional Manager North EMEA for Trivantis.

Simon Birt, Regional Manager for South EMEA agrees “Both tools are continuing to grow as their users’ needs evolve, whether this is for local eLearning programs or cross-border implementation. The multiple language versions will help our channel partners to build on the already widespread adoption of both Lectora and CourseMill in Europe.”
