IOSH is working in partnership with DuPont UK, Personal Protection, 3M UK
and Respirex International again to offer members the opportunity to attend ‘A
day on safety’.
Complementing the theme of the European Health and Safety Week (13-17
October) on hazardous substances, the seminar is aimed at safety professionals
in industry and public services.
With a combination of speaker presentations and practical sessions, the
event will provide invaluable information on legislation, and the correct
selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Subjects covered will include the principles of risk analysis, choosing
suitable PPE, respiratory protection and selection and the use and maintenance
of chemical protective clothing.
Delegates can also take part in a hands-on workshop in small groups to look
at practical problems in the use of PPE.
Two seminars have already taken place in Cardiff and London, but there are
two more chances to attend this highly informative event. On Thursday, 20
November, it will be held at Liverpool Football Club, and on Thursday, 4
December, it will be at the Riverside Stadium.
