Staff
are owed hundreds of millions of pounds by their employers in unpaid expenses,
according to a new study.
Bacs,
the automated bank payment company, said companies owe employees £258m every
month in unpaid travel, entertainment and other legitimate expenses.
It
reveals about 1.7m workers have their expenses repaid by cheque and they have
to wait up to four weeks before they can bank their claim. A third of workers
also struggle to pay their bills because they are waiting to be reimbursed.
