A recruitment team from the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) has been targeting
City workers on the London Underground to try and tempt them to follow careers
in the classroom.
TTA representatives button-holed commuters at during the rush hour last week
at Bank, Moorgate, Blackfriars, Liverpool Street and Tower Hill stations and
asked if they had ever considered a career in teaching.

TTA director of teacher supply and recruitment Mary Doherty, said:
"Many people working in the City have skills and resources which are
valuable to the teaching profession.
"This approach provides an opportunity for City workers to look at what
teaching offers in terms of career satisfaction, a chance to make a difference
and a new challenge."
